How to prepare
Decide on the feel first: glamorous, playful, outdoors or at home. Tell your photographer about any props you plan to bring, such as number balloons, a sash or a cake, and who is responsible for them on the day. Foil balloons can blow about outdoors, so have a plan for wind.
For a cake smash, pick a simple cake without strong food colouring and bring a change of clothes and wipes. Choose an outfit you feel great in. If friends are joining, ask them to arrive partway through so there is time for solo portraits first.
