What is restaurant and hotel photography?

Restaurant and hotel photography is professional photography for hospitality businesses: interiors, exteriors, rooms, dishes and drinks, and lifestyle images of guests enjoying the space. The images are used on websites, booking platforms, menus, social media and in press coverage.

Shoots start from £400, with the final price depending on the size of the venue, the number of spaces and dishes, styling and usage. Images are professionally edited and delivered in a private online gallery. Our hotel and restaurant photography guide explains how to plan a shoot and what affects the result.

What’s included

  • Interior and exterior photography
  • Food and drink, as agreed
  • Lifestyle images of the space in use
  • Professionally edited digital images
  • A private online gallery

Who it’s for

Restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, hotels, B&Bs, holiday lets and event venues that need images to fill tables and rooms. It suits a new opening, a refurbishment, a new menu or season, and venues whose booking-platform photos are dated or inconsistent.

It also suits hospitality groups that need a consistent look across several sites. If you mainly need listing photos of a property for sale or rent, real estate photography may be more suitable.

Price

From £400

The starting price covers the essentials listed above. Your quote is built around your plans; these are the things that move it:

  • Size of the venue and number of rooms or spaces
  • Number of dishes and drinks
  • Food styling and props
  • Lifestyle shots with models or staff
  • Twilight or exterior shots at specific times
  • Usage, such as advertising or print
  • Travel outside the photographer’s included area

Prices are indicative starting prices and may vary depending on the photographer, date, location, duration, deliverables, travel, and project requirements. Your final quotation will be confirmed before booking.

How to prepare

Book the shoot for a quiet time, before service or on a closed day, and plan a clean, uncluttered venue: fresh flowers, polished glasses, made beds, bins out of sight. Walk through each space and remove anything that doesn't belong on camera.

Agree a shot list with your photographer, and schedule the kitchen to plate each dish when it is needed, so food is photographed fresh. If you want guests or staff in the photographs, arrange them and get consent. Tell your photographer where the images will be used so they can shoot the right orientations.

Where to have it photographed

Availability depends on photographers in each area and is confirmed with your quote.

Hospitality: your questions

Do we need to close for the shoot?

Not necessarily. Many shoots happen before service or on a quiet day; your photographer will suggest what works best.

Can you photograph food and interiors on the same day?

Yes. A typical shoot does interiors first while the venue is empty, then food and drink.

Can the images be used for advertising?

Usage rights are set out in your quote. Tell us how you plan to use the images so the terms match.

Can you include people in the photos?

Yes, with staff, friends or models, as long as everyone has agreed. Mention it when you enquire, as it affects planning and the quote.
