Maternity Photography

Maternity photography is a 60–90 minute session that marks pregnancy, either outdoors or in a studio-style lifestyle setting. It's for expectant parents who want photographs of this stage: solo, with a partner, with older children, or all three.

Sessions start from £250, with professionally edited digital images delivered in a private online gallery. The pace is relaxed, with breaks whenever you need them, and your photographer plans around comfort: nearby parking, somewhere to sit, and shade or shelter. Many people pair it with a newborn session a few weeks after the birth.

Expectant parents who want a record of pregnancy that feels like them, whether that's a walk in a meadow, a city backdrop or a simple indoor setting. Partners and older siblings are welcome, and a session that includes them often gives the photographs families return to most.

It suits any pregnancy, including a surrogacy or adoption journey where the intended parents want to mark the wait. Tell us anything that would make the session easier for you, such as limited walking or needing to be near facilities.

Many people book in the third trimester, when the bump shows clearly but moving about is still comfortable. If anything about your pregnancy is unusual, check with your midwife first and plan an earlier date.

Choose clothes that show your shape: fitted dresses, flowing fabrics, or a partner's shirt worn open. Bring comfortable shoes for walking between spots, water and a snack. If children are joining, bring something to keep them busy while you have solo portraits taken. Tell your photographer if there's anything you'd rather not be photographed, and they'll plan around it.
