Getting there and around
Leicester station has direct East Midlands Railway trains from London St Pancras, plus links to Birmingham, Nottingham and Sheffield. The station is on London Road, close to the start of New Walk, and the cathedral, Guildhall and Curve are all within walking distance. Abbey Park is a walk of roughly 20 minutes north of the Clock Tower, or a short taxi ride.
Driving in, the centre is circled by a busy inner ring road with multi-storey car parks around it, and Abbey Park has its own parking. Bradgate Park, outside the city, is easiest by car and has pay car parks at its main entrances.

The historic centre is compact and quiet on weekday mornings; Saturdays bring shoppers around the Clock Tower and the market. Abbey Park is busiest on warm weekend afternoons and during festivals, so check the city council's events listings before fixing a date.
